Is it just us, or is everyone obsessed with passionfruit right now? That’s a good thing because this tiny tropical fruit brings juicy sweetness, bright acidity and beach-holiday vibes to everything it touches, whether that’s a delicious dessert or our favourite passionfruit premix. Most of all, though, we think passionfruit shines in a cocktail.

The current trend is hard to pinpoint, but passionfruit cocktails are always in favour – probably thanks to the Pornstar Martini that popped off in the early 2000s. Whatever the case, passionfruit-flavoured cocktails are big right now and, with summer poking its head around the corner, it’s worth having a few passionfruit cocktail recipes up your sleeve. As for the name? We don’t make the rules – if it goes in a Martini glass, it’s a Martini.

2. Pornstar Martini
Here’s that Pornstar Martini – another cocktail that nods to the Martini in serving glass only. Passionfruit pulp and liqueur combine with vanilla vodka and syrup, plus a little lime juice and a tiny side of sparkling wine. This cocktail was created in London in 2002 and, with the 2000s enjoying a comeback, we reckon this is a prime candidate for serving alongside an R&B soundtrack in your lowrise jeans.
