Our favourite Italian bars (and bites) in Melbourne

The words ‘you have to go here’ get thrown around a lot, but when it comes to Melbourne’s beloved Italian bars, we'd be hard-pressed to choose a favourite. Whether you fancy old-school Italian wines and rustic pasta, or modern riffs on the Aperol Spritz and pizza family, there’s no shortage of hole-in-the-wall havens and other hidden gems around town. 

Just don’t forget to end your evening with a classic digestif (one grappa, per favore) or a decadent Italian dessert – that’s amore!
