Grab your mates – the Dan Murphy’s Makers’ Market is happening on November 19. Taste the best in local beer, wine and spirits, with a side of top-notch food and tunes.
Have you ever taken a sip of your favourite beverage and thought, “Damn, I’d love to shake the hand of the person who made this”? Us too, which is why we dreamt up the Dan Murphy’s Makers’ Market. Meeting the people behind some of Australia’s finest drinks is just the beginning – happening in the yard of Dan Murphy’s Richmond in Melbourne, this one-day festival is like the farmer’s market-meets-car boot sale of your dreams (with a Dan’s twist, of course).
Here’s what you need to know: when you arrive you’ll grab a tote bag (handy if you plan on buying a bottle or six-pack) and make your way around the local legends sharing their tastiest drinks. There’s all sorts of beer, wine and spirits on offer (all tastings are included with your $20 ticket). Think Brick Lane Brewing Co, Braeside Brewery, Deeds Brewing, Local Brewing Co, Better Beer, Fruity Beer, Rob Dolan Wines, Levantine Hill, Sticks, Sidewood, Tar & Roses, Pizzini Wines, Oakridge, Pacha Mama, St Hubert’s, Red Hill Estate, Zonzo Estate, Merricks, Thousand Candles, Onannon, Shadowfax, Payten & Jones, De Bortoli, La Boheme, Brogan’s Way, Heathcote Gin and Curatif Cocktails. Phew! That’s a lot of makers under one roof.
Discovering the best in local beer, wine and spirits will have you working up an appetite, so expect a drool-worthy assortment of food vendors serving up tasty treats for purchase while you explore the space. And it’s not a festival without some entertainment, so we’ll make sure there’s plenty of that, too – DJ Andy Murphy will be spinning tunes and Beat The Heat Brass Band will be doing the rounds, because who doesn’t love a saxophone solo?
So, pop it in the diary. Add it to your group chat. Text your mum. Dan Murphy’s Makers’ Market is happening on Saturday, 19 November, 2022 from 11am to 5pm at Dan Murphy's Richmond (567 Bridge Road, Richmond, 3121). Tickets are only $20, and, just like bathtub beers at a house party, they’ll be snapped up quickly – so jump to it.
A couple more things to mention, this is a strictly over-18s event – please don’t bring the little ones, even if they’re accompanied by parents. Also, things can change, and the local makers who are attending might shift on the day, so keep that in mind. Finally, this event is fully indoors so you'd better believe Melbourne’s weather won’t mess with our plans!
