Enter the two latest releases from Brown Brothers – the Ginger & Lime Spritz and Moscato Mango Swirl. Both wine-related, but really stepping out into a new genre-bending category all of their own where big, unique flavour comes first. Whether you’re hanging in the backyard before a Saturday night out or catching up for that midweek dinner that finally works for everyone, the occasion demands something tasty, bright and exciting (we love a drink that doubles as a conversation starter). So, when two brand-new drinks land that tick all those boxes – and they are a mash-up of our favourite fruit flavours – we get a bit excited.

1. Brown Brothers Ginger & Lime Spritz
Find us someone who doesn’t appreciate a little spritzy goodness in their glass. We all know and love the Spritz as a breezy and lower-alc cocktail style to make (three parts sparkling, two parts bitter liqueur and one part soda, FYI), but we just can’t go past one that’s ready-made and ready to pour. That’s where the Ginger & Lime Spritz comes in. Different, balanced and zesty, this easy-drinking yet interesting drop is bang-on for right now. Plus, it’s got bubbles that just won’t quit and a price tag to make your accountant happy. The standard price is $19.99, but if you’re a My Dan’s member (which you should be – it’s free), then you can nab it for $18 in-store or online until December 4.
Let’s talk flavour. Is ginger your thing? Lively with a little spicy kick, this Spritz puts all those delish gingery hallmarks on show while balancing them out with the zingy brightness of lime. No need to lug three different bottles to your mate’s house – grab this Spritz, pour it into large wine glasses over ice, top it with lime and fresh mint, and you’ve got one epic bev that’ll impress your friends. At 8% ABV, it’s also a drink just made for the sunshine – and snacks. This is the perfect addition to a session of DIY rice-paper rolling (or cheat and grab some from your favourite Vietnamese restaurant on the way).
2. Brown Brothers Moscato Mango Swirl
If you’re not yet a fan of moscato, we’re here to tell you it’s seriously worth a closer look. Moscato is back, baby. Sweet-fruited, vibrant and often super affordable (wait ’til you see the price of this one), moscato is one of the wine world’s biggest treats. It also naturally hits at a lower alcohol percentage – this bottle comes in at 8% ABV too – and it goes just as well with a cheese plate as it does with cheesecake. Versatile, no? And while Victorian family winery Brown Brothers has one of Australia’s most popular moscatos, that hasn’t stopped them from getting creative and putting a new twist on an old favourite.

One of the best things about sweeter wine styles is how well they pair with a surprising range of foods. The Moscato Mango Swirl is an excellent example, as it would make a cracking bottle for your next Thai BYO – the texture also helps to cleanse the palate, so the hotter the better, if that’s your thing – and it would also slot in beautifully next to a fruit platter. While this moscato definitely has some sweeter flavours going on (expect subtle mango with a hint of coconut in the mix), it’s also clean and balanced, making it a lovely, fresh wine to enjoy perfectly chilled.
