1. Cold Snap Chardonnay with bagels

Crafted from fruit grown in the rich soils of Victoria’s finest cool-climate regions, this elegant chardonnay is bursting with apples and pears balanced with a beautiful minerality. Not content to just be delicious, it’s also kicking goals when it comes to environmental impact, as the bottle is made of recycled glass while the label is 100% eco-friendly. Our hot tip? Keep things casual and bring a bottle of this to your next picnic with a bag of bagels lathered in cream cheese (and maybe salmon) – it's the perfect combination for when the cold snap turns into a heat wave!

2. Vortex Wine Co Behind The Sun Pinot Grigio with prawn, mango and avo salad

Behind The Sun is a brand new line of low-alcohol wines that are certain to be popular parkside. This vibrant pinot grigio, with a crisp lime finish, is a prime example of the range's appeal as it's light in alcohol and calories without sacrificing taste and quality. Even better, a portion of Behind The Sun wine’s profits are donated to Conservation Volunteers Australia in support of habitat regeneration, while the UV-activated ink on the label makes for a cool party trick, too. The logo changes colour as it flashes in the sun, so don't hesitate to show off the bottle to your friends alongside a summer salad packed with prawns, mango and avocado. If there's a more refreshing combo, we're yet to see it dished up.

3. Cupio Pink Sauvignon Blanc with oysters

Talk about giving you the best of both worlds: Cupio Pink Sauvignon Blanc is a sophisticated wine with the hallmark citrus notes and crisp acidity of a sauvignon blanc, while also boasting a beautiful salmon pink colour. Intrigued? You should be. Medium-bodied with a delicate cherry spice on the finish, it's a unique wine that's bound to stand out from the crowd and light up your palate. For extra points, pair it with a plate of fresh oysters – hit your local seafood market if possible – and let that acidity work its magic on the oysters' salty flavours.

4. Super State Co-Ferment Rosé with cheese, cheese and more cheese

If you’re looking to push the envelope with your drink choices, look no further than Super State. With a dedication to innovation and experimentation, they've achieved an exciting feat by creating the world’s first wine co-fermented with strawberry and pomegranate, which takes the flavours of the McLaren Vale grapes to another level. And while there's no doubt the wine is impressive enough on its own, a classy cheese board will set it off even further.  Burrata, comté, halloumi or aged cheddar is always a winner, just avoid anything too funky as these cheeses tend to pair best with sweeter wines.

5. Max's Rosé with mini salmon quiches

The Penfolds name is synonymous with exceptional wine and they’re known around the world for big, bold Barossa shiraz and oak-aged chardonnay. Now they’ve turned their attention to rosé, which is something they haven’t attempted in over 50 years, but boy we’re glad they are now. Showcasing pinot noir grapes sourced from the Adelaide Hills region, Max’s Rosé is crisp, textural and demands sophisticated picnic fare worthy of the Penfolds name. Well, sophisticated is a stretch, but it doesn't hurt to prepare something a little fancy. Our go-to is miniature salmon quiches, which are not only simple to make and share, but will also complement the wine's delicate red-fruit flavours like they're long lost pals – which, given the 50 year wait, they kind of are.
