Including a signature cocktail for under $30 and Cognac that says “thank you for EVERYTHING”.
So, he’s a sipping-whisky Dad, or a mezcal-after-work Dad, or perhaps he’s a “let’s play mixologist” Dad. Maybe you're his flush kid, or on-a-budget kid. Possibly this is his pooled-money present, or you’re branching out on your own (competitive gifting is a family tradition for many). Whatever the situation, we have an idea at every price point that will knock his socks off (and not just because, for once, you didn’t get him socks).
Below, find our curated Father’s Day gift guide for Dads who love spirits of all sorts. Even better, most of these have a special deal for My Dan’s members right now, too, with the budgets below based on their offer price.
Under $30
Cointreau Orange Liqueur 50ml and Le Tribute Gin 50mL
For less than $30, you can set Dad up with his own little Marmalade Martini cocktail kit. All he needs to add is a spoonful of marmalade and a squeeze of lemon juice, and he’ll have a truly unique sip that would no doubt be favoured by a grown-up Paddington Bear.
Non-member price: $11.19 each*
Member price: 2 for $15, 3 for $20
Archie Rose Double Malt Whisky With Smoked Cola & Blood Orange
Usher Dad’s go-to whisky and Coke into modern times with these perfectly balanced cans from Australia’s most highly awarded distillery, Archie Rose. These actually use the distillery’s medal-snatching Single Malt and Rye Malt Whiskeys, while the smoked cola and blood orange really give this drink a flavoursome elevation.

Under $40
For a Campari alt that’s a touch sweeter (something a bitters beginner may prefer), the Luxardo Bitter Rosso has a heavier mouthfeel and costs around 20% less. Otherwise, it’s like for like: Italian, red, and great in a Negroni or with soda.
Non-member price: $39.99
Member price: $36
Two Stacks Dram In A Can Whiskey
Picking up a bronze medal at the World Whiskies Awards 2021, you can imagine this little can made a dram-big impression (a Dad-approved pun). While we joke, there’s nothing funny in Dram in a Can, just great Irish whiskey – but make it portable. We reckon it’s perfect for all those outdoorsy type Dads, or Dads who get around a good ol’ bonfire (which is most of them).
Non-member price: $47.99 per 4-pack
Member price: $40 per 4-pack
Under $60
Hikimi Kuromoji Ushou Morinoka Shochu
Kuromoji is an evergreen shrub that grows wild in the forests of Japan, and this shochu makes good use of it for seriously earthy and herbaceous flavour. Crafted by a distillery that’s been making shochu since 1872, it’s a fascinating intro to the spirit, or, if Dad’s already a fan, this unique take will be one to note. Keep it simple and drink it on the rocks, or with soda or tonic.
Non-member price: $61.99

Departed Spirits Green Apple Vodka
If you’ve got a cool, fun Dad (congrats, by the way) this is a brand-new brand he’s unlikely to have tried before. They also make a Yuzu Gin and a Pineapple Jalapeño Agave spirit, but it’s the Green Apple Vodka (that also features Tahitian lime and cucumber) that’s got us in a chokehold. Can you say Appletini? Triple-distilled French wheat vodka makes this smooth as hell, and we can’t not mention the unique vessel that holds this liquid garden party. It looks more like a chic olive oil can, and would also sit easily on any book shelf looking like nothing more than a lively read. Dad’ll love it.

There’s plenty to love about the Caribbean, but its rum falls damn high on that list. For Red Leg’s tropical edition, they take a blend of the best Caribbean rums, rest it in oak to smooth out, and infuse it with sweet mango, juicy guava and tangy passionfruit. There’s vanilla and ginger in there, too. Tell Dad it’s great straight from the freezer or mixed with lemonade and a wedge of lime.

Perro De San Juan Mezcal Espadin Blue Label
Mineral and herbal, nutty and gently smoky, this is quite the mezcal, particularly if the reviews are anything to go by – and they are. 100% Mexican, Perro De San Juan also makes highly traditional tipples that champion conservation and sustainability. This is a bottle for the Dad who swaps mezcal into every classic cocktail, who sips mezcal neat while planning his next adventure, and gets out his special glassware just because you’re coming for dinner.
Price: $90.95
Under $200
Lark Classic Cask Single Malt Australian Whisky
Renowned, decorated, handcrafted… if this is how you’d describe Dad’s favourite things, you can add this single malt to the list. Harmoniously balanced, this is sweet, savoury and spicy, with rich plum pudding and citrus notes. And yes, it’s made in the Tasmanian Coal Valley distillery from Bill Lark’s original recipe. This, friends, is an artisan Australian whisky, the kind of thing a craftsman will truly appreciate. And yes, Dad’s constant garage tinkering counts him as a craftsman.

Don’t forget about Cognac, people, especially not this one. Cognac was the chosen sip of historical kings, and has all sorts of mind-boggling classifications and rules held firm by the French government. Case in point: the double distillation in a copper still on a Cognac needs to be complete by the March 31 each year. Okay?! The “XO” stands for “extra old” (at least 10 years), so this is a bottle for sipping neat, without ice, so you can appreciate the nuance and depth of flavour. Yeah, this is fancy stuff. Your next birthday gift from Dad will be lit.

Drink it on the day
On a regular day, you might not crack open the añejo for cocktails, but on Dad's special day, it's time to up the ante. The ageing here brings smoky, caramel notes that you don’t get with a blanco, but it’s not as intense as some añejos, which makes it a perfect candidate for both cocktails AND sipping. Make a drink that lets the tequila shine, like a Rosita or classic Tommy’s Marg, or sip it straight after dinner (which you’ve cooked for Dad, of course). A digestif instantly takes your meal from average to fancy.
Price: $129.99
Tomatin 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Tomatin is one of the largest whisky producers in Scotland, but it was founded by a Japanese company (and is currently owned by another Japanese company). In short, there’s a lot of whisky perfectionist cultures colliding to make Tomatin whisky. This is their flagship single malt: smooth and easy to drink with outstanding quality and flavour. Whip up some simple Rob Roys or Godfathers ready for Dad’s arrival, and expect him to want to leave with the remainder of the bottle.
