Seven banging drinks, from someone whose job it is to try them all.

It’s reached that point of winter where I’ve committed to full-blown hibernation. Wanna hang out? You’ll have to come to me. Pedro Pascal himself could be buzzing my apartment, begging me to come out for drinks, and I’d be telling him through the intercom to try again in mid-to-late September.

And while I’m not having tonnes of luck training the dog to walk herself, I am finding plenty of goodies to enjoy from the comfort of home (electric blanket on max), thanks to the latest My Dan’s member offers.

Below, find the seven drinks I’ve added to my cart this week – a healthy mix of modern classics and all-time bangers. These particular offers end July 31, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.

1. Brookies Bottled Byron Negroni

I make plenty a Negroni from scratch, but when I can’t be arsed, I turn to Brookie’s. It’s made from beautiful Aussie ingredients – including their stellar Byron Dry Gin (which has long been a Lara staple), Maidenii Sweet Vermouth and Adelaide Hills Bitter Orange. It’s genuinely such a well-made cocktail. It’s kind of wild that all you have to do is pour it out. It’s even wilder at this price.

Non-member price: $70.99
Member price: $62

2. Dewars 8YO Mezcal Cask Blended Scotch Whisky

Every so often in this line of work, you come across ‘fusion’ products. Two popular styles, mushed together to make something new. Here we’ve got a whisky finished in mezcal casks, and I was worried it was just a gimmick, but trust me when I tell you that this makes sense. The Scotch and mezcal flavours play like best buds, there’s malt and caramel, and then you get this smoky, peppery mezcal finish. It’s unique and absolutely ace. Still not sold? Try it while it’s on offer – what’s to lose?

3. Barbadillo La Cilla Pedro Ximenez

Winter has one good thing about it and that’s dessert wines. Curled up with a glass of this Pedro Ximenez and a plate of blue cheese – ooh, or a drizzle over ice-cream – my god, it almost makes winter worth the effort. This hails from a producer with two centuries of experience. It’s seriously decadent and very sweet, so I highly recommend a funky, salty snack to go with.

Non-member price:  $44.99
Member price: $38

4. Pizzini Nonna Gisella Sangiovese

Alright, if dessert wine isn’t your game, how about a classic red? This is a cracking Aussie sangiovese named after the winemaker’s grandma, made out in Victoria’s King Valley region. Medium bodied, big flavour. It’s all cherry and plum, with plenty of savoury notes to boot. Absolutely killer with pizza (even bad pizza) and a slam dunk at this price.

5. NON 7 Stewed Cherry & Coffee

I’ll admit, I started buying these to have something in the cupboard for sober mates, but now I’m obsessed. In fact, I enjoyed a bottle last night. NON is a non-alcoholic wine alternative – but it’s not trying to be wine, it’s really its own thing. I find it tastes more like an expertly crafted non-alc cocktail, but it’s the perfect thing to whack in a wine glass. This one’s got ingredients like sour cherries, cold brew, garam masala, nutmeg, pink peppercorn, Murray River salt and verjus. I mean, how good does that sound?

Non-member price:  $29.99
Member price: $27

6. Archie Rose Gin & Mango Soda Cans

If you’re looking for a new premix to try, I’m a big fan of this. Juicy mango and finger lime meet gin and soda in a refreshing, highly portable drink. Honestly, what more do you want? Kudos to Archie Rose for never getting it wrong.

Non-member price: $24.99 for 4
Member price: $21 for 4

7. Mil Mediterranean Gin

Even if you’ve got plenty of gin options at home, this is worth adding to the line-up. It’s got botanicals like olive, thyme, almond and gooseberry (“Hey Siri, what’s a gooseberry?”) making it super mixable or great with tonic and fresh berries. Plus, it’s ideal for pretending you’re off on a Med summer getaway right now and not at home complaining about the cold.

Non-member price:  $74.99
Member price: $66
