Louis Hanson with the Peach Please

Champagne, stone fruit and mint… yum. Try the Louis Hanson’s peachy take on the classic French 75.

About the cocktail

We’re back at it again with our fave superstar all-rounder, Louis Hanson. This time we’ve collaborated on an outrageously on-brand cocktail, the Peach Please. Before we start shaking and mixing and jiving, let’s chat all things Louis (a fave topic of ours).

First up, what does our main man like to do on an average day? “My day usually revolves around a series of very important activities, like rehearsing imagined arguments in the shower, burning my toast, and overwatering my plants.” See? Superheroes are just like us.

So, when it’s not an average day, when there’s a chance to go out and partay, what’s Louis’ ideal night on the town? “Excuse me for my very, very boring ways, but my ideal night out nowadays is one that… finishes early – I know, YUCK! But also, intimate nights are sexy too, people! A late afternoon drink at someone’s house, dinner at a bar with a small group of mates, a guarantee that I’ll be tucked up in bed by 10pm so I can watch YouTube deep dives about hobby-horse riding… chef’s kiss.”

Let’s jump back into cocktails and our new fave drink, the Peach Please. So, what’s the inspiration behind this brilliant bev? “I wanted a drink that screamed ‘Hi, I’m bubbly and fruity and fresh and flirty!’ ” Makes sense to us. The Peach Please is a delicious peach variation on a French 75, so think sweet and juicy with a lovely hit of Champagne or sparkling wine.

Lastly, and perhaps the most important question for Louis yet, if Peach Please was a song, what would it be? “The Ketchup Song by Las Ketchup. Hear me out… it’s fun, it’s vibrant, it screams serotonin.”

  3. Add sparkling wine (between 60–90mL depending on your taste preference) and ice
  4. Garnish with mint sprigs, peach slices and a dusting of icing sugar

Louis’s top tips

So, you want to make the Peach Please cocktail? Excellent. We’re here for you. But first, a few tips from us and the extremely handsome Louis Hanson.

You know the drill, if it’s got mint in the ingredients we’re going to chastise you about it. Do not bruise, tear or break your mint. Be super careful with mint leaves and only use the freshest leaves you can find. We don’t want chunks of mint floating around, and  we don’t like yucky bruised mint. So friends, treat it like it’s Cinderella’s glass slipper.

Lastly, a little tip from the master: “Use different types of peaches for the garnish – we stan a colourful aesthetic.”
