This wine is a knockout! Made from the Montepulciano grape in the hilly Abruzzo region it's tarry leathery long dry and utterly delicious. Absolutely perfect with pizza!
This is Italy's quaffing red and here, for a paltry price, you get a typical vino di tavola. It's not the biggest or most complex, but has a briary, food-friendly savouriness that is a good match for pizza and pasta.
