Coonawarra reds have always been known for their ageability and this Leconfield Cabernet Sauvignon is no different. Made by Paul Gordon from the outstanding 2006 vintage, this Cabernet shows the region off wonderfully. Lashings of blackcurrant with hints of eucalypt all wrapped up in a ripe and full-bodied package. A perfect wine for those who don't want to wait that 5 years that great Coonawarra reds can take to show their best. Outstanding.

    This is a helluva classy drop. It's thick with blackcurrant, chocolate, molasses and crushed rock/gravel-like flavours, though what really rings my bells is the long, firm, ropey tannin pulling from the mid-plate onwards. The acidity has been judged nicely and the finish is good. This will age like a charm.
