The Mamre Brook label pays homage to William Salter who built a stone house and named it Mamre Brook from a biblical story in Genesis. The house still stands today as a testament to the history and heritage of this great South Australian wine name. The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is taken from fruit that was grown in one of the vintages of decade. Warm, friendly conditions allowed the Cabernet to ripen fully and display the aromas and flavours of great warm climate Cab. Ripe blueberries and plums are still quite evident in a red that has been ageing quietly in our temperature controlled cellars.

Powerful, incisive, full-bodied cabernet; tarry black fruits, licorice and dark chocolate are interwoven through obvious oak, the tannins also very evident. Needs longer than the cork may give it.
