Young gun Barossa winemaker Kym Teusner undoubtedly makes some of the finest wines in the Barossa Valley today. There's a vibrancy and excitement to his wines that continues to win hearts and minds aplenty. His Riebke Shiraz has proven to be a bona fide star in recent years and his latest release will surely have you coming back for more! With its rich, full-bodied palate that Barossa Shiraz lovers can't get enough of, the Riebke is also balanced with fine, powdery tannin and great use of oak to bring a moreish quality to this great value-for-money Shiraz.

Bright, floral, chocolaty and accessible - that's the message in this bottle. Medium to full bodied, slippery and slurpy, milk chocolate tannins, gentle oak spice seasoning, squishy blue and black berries, fair freshness and a clean finish. Pulls a litle bit savoury and earthy on the finish, suggesting complexity and improvement to come. Regular Riebke buyers will not be disappointed.

It's fast becoming a cliché with these 2012 reds from Teusner but this is the best Riebke I've tasted going back to the 2004. It has greater structure and complexity. In fact it's probably a year off its drinking window although there's no harm getting stuck in now ... I reckon you could take a punt and cellar this over the medium term at least should you wish. Terrific value.

Crimson-purple; the fragrant bouquet exudes plum and blackberry fruit, promptly picked up by the stylish medium-bodied palate; here those flavours are joined by perfect tannins, oak purring along in the background. So great is the balance that the wine will live forever, however enjoyable it is now.

The Ebenezer district in the Barossa's north is home to the Riebke brothers' highly prized patch of dirt. This slice of heaven has always been destined for its own unique premium wine, but years ago nobody would have imagined it being available for this kind of price. 2010 is probably the most complete Riebke ever made. There's plenty of dense blackcurrant, layered with oodles of aniseed and white pepper.

A brilliant vintage for Riebke, ranking among the very best. This is signature Kym Teusner, capturing the plush but poised and consummately balanced glory of northern Barossa shiraz, in all of its rich plum, black cherry and rhubarb depth but - crucially - with vibrant, lifted violet freshness.

This black-fruited Barossan beauty is so full of ripe juiciness and pleasure-driven structure that we challenge anyone not be seduced. Kirsch, cedar, five-spice, black cherry - this is just magic stuff, ripe but not overripe, rich without being sweet, fresh and vibrant, uncorrupted by excessive oak.
