The full purple-crimson challenges the general reputation of the vintage, as does the textured palate with its array of cassis, redcurrant and plum fruit, the tannins ripe and well balanced, the oak a bystander.

Vintage 2009
90 points The Wine Front
Dutschke wines started with a red blend - 20 years ago - of shiraz, cabernet and merlot. That''s the make-up of this blend. It''s an uncomplicated wine but a thoroughly enjoyable one. It mostly just tastes of blackcurrant and asphalt - delivered with an easy-going smoothness. Subtle vanilla. Fruit cake spices on the nose. No shrinking violet that''s for sure.
