Wirra Wirra Mrs Wigley Rosé

  • Varietal:  Grenache
  • Current Vintage:  2011*
  • Size:  750mL

Mrs Wigley was not the wife of Wirra Wirra founder, Robert Strangways Wigley, but in fact a neighbouring cat that took up residence in the winery open top fermenters. The rosé show aromas of fresh strawberry and cherry and a crisp palate of light spice and a lingering dry finish.

The wine smells pretty - rose water, watermelon, cinnamon and a dash of white pepper. The palate is crunchy, light weight with a glint of sweet red berry fruit amongst briny acidity and more peppery notes. It's forgivably watery, a little light on for flavour, but delivers big on the refreshment factor.
