Jacob's Creek St Hugo has branched out to produce super premium wines that evocatively talk of their sense of place. This award-winning Grenache Shiraz Mataro blend is sourced from specific sites from within the Barossa Valley to provide complexity and vibrancy. A very smart wine with sweet, cherry driven up-front fruit with licks of savoury spice and juicy loose knit tannin.

Im not as keen on this as I was on the shiraz though I still like it a lot. Its sweet and raspberried, spicy and well-balanced. Its a very good mid-level wine with high drinking appeal ... it is though juicy and fresh, with smart cedar-smoky oak.

A 45/32/23% varietal blend, the grenache from two 40-year-old and one 83-year-old blocks, the mataro from bush-pruned vines at Greenock. An upwards and sideways (and cannibalistic) move for Jacob's Creek with lifted aromatics, layers of red and black fruits, and supple, fine tannins on the very long finish.
