Château Citran is a very important Château in the Haut-Médoc and more so in Avensan. Changing hands numerous times in the last 50 years, the current owners of Château Chasse Spleen operate the vineyard and produce wines of great approachability and pronounced fruit. The 2008 is a more fruit forward wine that those in recent vintages and will reward some careful medium-term cellaring.
A dark garnet/ruby color is followed by notes of Christmas fruitcake, red currants, cherries, herbs and underbrush. Drink this pleasant, medium-bodied wine over the next 2-4 years.
Vintage: 2008 Score: 85 points
