Turkey Flat can rightfully claim to have some of the oldest vines in the world, and Mourvèdre is one of the oldest planted varieties in the Barossa Valley. This 2008 vintage survived the Barossa heatwave brilliantly courtesy of the native thick canopy that Mourvèdre throws. A wine full of lifted violets and perfume and a palate of silky softness without any hint of confection. A delight.

Light but bright colour; mourvedre needs a very warm, dry climate if it is to fully ripen and, most importantly, for its tannins to become ripe; Turkey Flat's old vines achieve precisely this, allowing the red berry fruits free play.
