It is said that to get to the heart of Chamertin, you have to take the road to Domaine Armand Rousseau. Armand, the man, had a family history that included vine growers, coopers, merchant's and courtiers. This allowed Armand to procure land in prestigous areas which were and have become Grand Cru vineyards. The 2008 Charmes-Chambertin is a typically floral and fragrant Pinot Noir with layers of rose petal and light spice. The palate is extremely elegant and refined, but will also live for well over a decade with careful cellaring.
