On the palate balsamic and other savory notes make an appearance along with plenty of succulent black fruit. It has outstanding depth, concentration, and balance and should evolve for another 4-5 years. It is likely to have a 30 year lifespan.

This wine's fantastically traditional label matches the style of the wine within - a traditional wood and bottle-aged tempranillo-based red from northern Spain. It has a complex, mature, roasted nose of berries, spices, vanilla, mocha and leather. The smooth, deep palate has excellent length and texture, finishing dry and pleasnantly firm.

Tokay like aromatics with orange peel, tea, old wood, polished teak, walnuts, vanilla and spice - ample fruit is there too though - sweet raspberries, raisins and old dark fruit - complexity, it does not want for. It's super smooth and silky with layers of flavour and interest, tangy fresh on the palate with savoury and incorrigible Old Skool, Old World charm. Dry and long to close. Charismatic. A wonderful idiosyncratic wine.

COLOUR-dark; NOSE-this nose is brilliant; textbook Rioja nose; reminds me of soup; I want to eat the nose; PALATE-I find that the oak is charming on this wine; a red spice component; some floral nuances; I love this wine; it is MASSIVELY balanced!!!!!; if you're a old world Bordeaux fan, I love the balance, I love subtle cranberry mixed with sour cherry; Lentil soup; this should last 50 years.
