Chris Ringland Shiraz has been one of Australia's most loved wines over the past few years with its immense concentration of bold, forboding fruit. Chris Ringland, the man behind such famous names as Three Rivers and Rockford Basket Press Shiraz, creates a wine that is made from mature Northern Barossa vines and shows dark mass of concentrated black and blue fruits, laced with sweet mocha and wrapped in a smooth, velvety texture. Not for the faint of heart, the CR Shiraz is improving vintage on vintage.

Deep red-purple hue; the rich bouquet of plum and blackberry leads into a supple and plush palate bringing a touch of dark chocolate into play. All the French oak inputs (two- to three-year-old hogsheads, and/or planks in tanks) are deliberately kept low. The tannins on the finish are soft and ripe, and cellaring isn't needed

Old Vine Northern Barossa fruit delivers a totally impenetrable inky wine with swathes of dark concentrated blue and black fruits. Building on that are incredible layers of flavour like chocolate, mocha, sweet spices of aniseed, licorice and voluptuous dark fruit like plum and blackberry. The viscosity and weight of the wine is impeccable while the texture can be simply described with one word, velvety. The tannins are micro-fine, the balance superb and the length is marathon like. A Barossa Valley Shiraz of the highest order.
