Intense fig, peach aromas with yeasty complexity and underlying savoury oak... richly flavoured with plenty of fruit complexity, subtle savoury notes... long acidity.

Here's a style of wine that wins trophies and gold medals at Australian wine shows. Once it was big obvious oaky things, and now it's the ultra-light, sulphide complexity, early picked styles that mainly get the pots. Some complexing struck match and tropical fruit (almost to passionfruit), citrus and grassy herbal characters. Oak is well in the background. It's a lighter, super fresh and racy style that will hold great appeal for the 'modernists'. I'm not red hot on the flavour profile (for a Chardonnay, at least) but the line and length is excellent. The especially long zippy lime juice finish garners additional points. Begrudgingly, worth 92 points, and possibly even more for others. I've described it faithfully.
