Penfolds Grange – An Australian Icon.

The creation and ultimate success of Australia’s most important wine is a story of discovery, faith, doubt and triumph. Self-made genius, Max Schubert, was inspired by his visit to Bordeaux and set out to create an Australian red wine to rival the world’s most famous wines. The years of blood, sweat and tears can all be tasted in the glass from the experimental vintage of 1951, all the way through to the new 2006 release made by Penfolds’ 4th chief winemaker, Peter Gago.

Dan Murphy’s has been involved in the telling of the iconic Grange tale since its inception. Currently our cellar contains two complete sets of Penfolds Grange which include many personally signed by Max Schubert himself, along with some that have been through the rigorous process of the Penfolds Re-Corking Clinics. This is an extremely rare opportunity to invest in a piece of Australian winemaking history.
